Privacy Policy

Summary

• The Katnet and ServerConnect Pro Apps are designed to work fully offline. They do not require an internet connection to provide their core functionality.
• We do not collect, store, or process personal data from the Apps on our servers. We do not receive telemetry, analytics, crash reports, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics from the Apps. Nothing you do inside the Apps is sent to IT GUY IO for processing in the cloud.
• The Apps may display or use network or device information locally on your phone or tablet (for example, scan results or connection details) so you can do your job. That processing stays on your device unless you separately choose to use another service (for example, you open a third-party SSH client or sync data with a cloud not operated by us).
• IT GUY IO does not sell personal information and does not share App data with data brokers. We do not use the Apps for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who this applies to

This policy applies to users of the Katnet and ServerConnect Pro Apps worldwide and to visitors of our public website. If you contact us by email, a separate limited use of information applies as described under Website, email support, and hosting.

The Apps: offline operation

Both Apps are intended to operate without contacting IT GUY IO’s systems. They do not require you to create an IT GUY IO account, and they do not depend on our backend services to function. Any internet connectivity your device has while using an App is between your device and networks or services you use (for example, your local network, a server you administer, or the app stores for installation and updates), not a requirement imposed by us to operate the Apps’ core features.

Data we do not collect in the Apps

Through the Katnet and ServerConnect Pro Apps, IT GUY IO does not:

• Collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses;
• Collect precise or coarse location from the App (for example GPS);
• Collect contacts, photos, microphone audio, or camera images through the Apps for transmission to us;
• Use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or social SDKs that send data to IT GUY IO;
• Operate in-App advertising or profiling for marketing;
• Collect crash logs or diagnostics that are transmitted to IT GUY IO (we do not operate a crash-reporting pipeline tied to your identity for these Apps);
• Assign or request an advertising ID from you inside the App for our own tracking;
• Build a persistent identifier across devices for advertising or sale.

Store disclosure forms (such as Google Play’s Data safety section or Apple’s privacy labels) should be completed to match this policy. If our practices change, we will update this policy and those disclosures before shipping an update that introduces new collection.

Information processed only on your device

Like any networking or KVM tool, the Apps may process technical information on-device to perform their functions. Examples may include IP addresses, hostnames, port states, or similar data visible on the network you are working on, or USB-related data needed to drive the hardware. This processing is local to your device and is not transmitted to IT GUY IO as part of the App’s normal operation. We do not access that data remotely because we do not receive it.

If you copy information out of an App, save screenshots, or connect to external tools, those actions are under your control and subject to those tools’ policies, not ours.

Permissions and local network use

The operating system may show permissions (for example, local network access, nearby devices, USB, or VPN-related capabilities) so the Apps can use Ethernet, USB, or local network features as described in the product documentation. We use such permissions only to deliver the on-device functionality you expect. We do not use them to extract data for upload to IT GUY IO.

Third-party services and SDKs

The Apps, as published by IT GUY IO, do not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or attribution SDKs that send data to IT GUY IO. Your device manufacturer and operating system provider (Apple, Google, and others) may process data according to their own policies when you use their platforms, install updates, or use system services; that processing is outside our control and is described in their privacy documentation.

Website, email support, and hosting

Our marketing website is primarily informational. We do not use first-party advertising or analytics cookies on that site to profile visitors. Pages may load fonts or other assets from third-party infrastructure (for example, a font CDN); those providers may process technical connection data under their own terms.

If you email support@it-guy.io, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and technical metadata typical of email (such as headers). We use that information only to respond to you and to operate our business (for example, fraud prevention or legal compliance). We do not sell those messages or use them to run advertising. You may request deletion of routine support correspondence where applicable law allows, subject to legal retention needs.

Web hosting providers may generate server logs (such as IP address, user agent, and request time) when you request pages from it-guy.io. We do not use those logs to track individual App users inside Katnet or ServerConnect Pro, and we do not link them to an in-App identity because the Apps do not create such an identity for us.

App stores (Google and Apple)

When you download or update an App from Google Play or the App Store, Google or Apple processes information under their respective privacy policies (for example, account, payment, and fraud data). That processing is governed by your agreement with the store, not by this policy alone. We do not receive your payment card details from the stores for in-store purchases in a way that replaces the store’s role as payment processor.

Children

Our Apps and website are intended for professionals and adult users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction) through the Apps. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in violation of this policy, contact us at support@it-guy.io and we will take appropriate steps.

Your rights (EEA, UK, Switzerland, California, and others)

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, or to object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Because the Apps do not transmit personal data to IT GUY IO, there is often no App-related dataset held by us to access or delete. If you email us, you may have rights regarding that correspondence as described above.

California (CPRA / CCPA): We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined in California law for the Apps, and we do not collect sensitive personal information through the Apps for the purpose of inferring characteristics. California residents may contact us for more information or to exercise rights that apply to information we hold (for example, support emails).

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland: If we process personal data when you contact us, we rely on lawful bases such as responding to your request (contract or pre-contract steps) or our legitimate interests in operating support and improving products, balanced against your rights. You may contact us or, where applicable, your local data protection authority.

International users

IT GUY IO LLC is based in the United States. If you contact us from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or where we operate support tools, subject to applicable law.

Security

Because App-related data you generate stays on your device (and is not routinely sent to us), protecting that data depends significantly on your device security (passcode, OS updates, and organizational policies). We design the Apps to avoid unnecessary network exposure to IT GUY IO; we do not operate a cloud datastore for your in-App activity.

Retention

We do not retain personal data collected through the Apps because we do not receive such data from the Apps. Email support and ordinary business records may be retained as long as needed for the purposes described above and as required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices, the Apps, or legal requirements change. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes that affect personal data, we will provide additional notice as required by applicable law or store rules (for example, through the App listing or, if we ever add in-App notices, within the App).
